2023 UCI Cycling World Championships – Men’s Elite Road Race to roll through Falkirk

Falkirk will play a significant part in the UCI Men’s Elite Road race as it passes through the area on Sunday 6th August 2023.

Falkirk will play a significant part in the UCI Men’s Elite Road race as it passes through the area on Sunday 6th August 2023.

The race, part of the UCI World Cycling Championships, will bring top cyclists from around the world to Falkirk, showcasing the area’s iconic landmarks along the way!

The 227km Men Elite Road Race sets off from Edinburgh before heading north across the Firth of Forth via the Queensferry Crossing then heading west through Fife towards Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling passing near world renowned landmarks including the Kelpies, the Falkirk Wheel, Carron Valley and the Crow Road, before turning towards Glasgow for a finish alongside George Square.

In Falkirk, cyclists will travel a 52km route through towns and villages and Falkirk Town Centre entering the area at approx 10.30am and lasting around 36 minutes.

What you need to know:

Can I come to Falkirk to watch the race?

Spectators are welcome to attend the event, but please arrive early. There are no designated viewing points, and no vehicles can be parked on the route as this will be a tow-away zone.

How can I travel to Falkirk to watch the race?

Spectators should use public transport where possible or use the network of pedestrian footways and cycleways in the area.

Where can I park if I come to watch the race?

Spectators attending the event will be unable to park along the route of the race. Visitors are encouraged to use recognised car parks. There are Falkirk Council car parks you can use as well.
