Intro to creative Coding Workshop with Charlie Hooper-Williams
Get started in creative coding with a hands-on, no-experience-necessary workshop! Led by Charlie Hooper-Williams, one of the software developers behind Shazam, this 90-minute session introduces you to the exciting world of TouchDesigner, a tool for making live visuals without using code. You’ll create simple, visual, and interactive scenes right away, using the same free software Charlie uses for his stunning live visuals. Learn how to make things spin, glow, warp, and sparkle as you explore the fundamentals of rendering, lighting, textures, and more. Perfect for anyone with basic computer skills like typing and using a mouse or trackpad—no prior coding experience needed!
Age 10+ (ages 10-12 must be accompanied by parent, although no charge for parent to attend)
Prerequisites
- Please bring your own laptop.
- Participants need basic computer skills (open/save a file, attach a document to an email) but do NOT need prior coding experience.
- Students who have learned some coding already will find this a change as we do not type any lines of code in the workshop.
